The Taylor Police Department has a 15 cell holding area for housing prisoners. The Police Department Houses occasionally for Michigan State Police, Homeland Security and Immigration & Customs Enforcement.
Persons are held in the Taylor Police Department pending appearance in the 23rd District Court or awaiting transport to the Wayne County Jail.

-There is no visitation for any reason for any person in the custody of the Taylor Police Department.
-Family is allowed to bring a change of clothes under special circumstances.
-Family is allowed to drop off prescription medication if the medication is in the original prescription bottle and is labeled with the individuals information.
-Calls cannot be made to the person being held in the custody of the Police Department.
