The City of Taylor recently received Federal Funding through the Michigan Department of Transportation to repair and resurface Goddard Road from Telegraph Road to Pardee Road. Hennessey Engineers is acting as the City’s engineering and inspection consultant for this project. Cadillac Asphalt, Inc., of Clarkston, was awarded the contract for this work. Work is scheduled to start the week of April 9, beginning with the delivery of construction barrels. The project has a final completion date of June 29. The resurfacing of Goddard will be performed in two stages. On Wednesday, April 11, Stage 1 begins with traffic being diverted to the center lanes of Goddard, one travel lane in each direction and a center turn lane. The asphalt surface will be milled off, areas of concrete base will be repaired, utility structures adjusted and repaired, and the final road surface constructed. Following that, Stage 2 will begin with traffic being diverted onto the newly paved outside lanes, one lane in each direction, while the center lanes are milled, repaired and resurfaced. During Stage 2 there will be limited left turns allowed and no left turns during the milling and paving operations. Also, there will be “No Left Turn” from east bound Goddard Road onto north bound Pardee Road. During the project residents and businesses may lose access to driveways and the front or side of the property for short periods of time during the milling, base pavement repair and paving operations. Otherwise access will be provided at all times. Trash pick-up will continue on the regularly scheduled day and trash containers should be placed at the edge of the street. We apologize for the inconvenience this work may cause you. The City, Hennessey Engineers and Cadillac Asphalt will try to limit the inconvenience as best as possible. Your cooperation in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions, kindly contact Greg Mayhew, City Engineer, at (734) 374-1473, or by email at email@example.com.
