The team won the state championship in Grosse Pointe last week, qualifying for the six-team Great Lakes Regional in Whitestown, Indiana August 8-14. Taylor will open play in Game 2 of the tournament against Elmbrook Little League, the Wisconsin state champion. The other qualifiers for the Great Lakes Regional are Hinsdale LL (Illinois), Brownsburg LL (Indiana), Warren County South LL (Kentucky) and West Side LL (Ohio).
As a result of the pandemic, the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, is not accepting international teams this year. Therefore, only regional qualifiers from the United States will participate. Two teams from each U.S. regional will qualify for the Little League World Series. If Taylor North finishes among the top two teams in the Great Lakes Regional, it will head for Williamsport.
No Taylor team has ever qualified for the Little League World Series.
The Taylor-Elmbrook game will be held at 1 p.m. August 8. Great Lakes Regional games will be aired live on ESPN Network channels, including live streams on ESPN+.
The Taylor North team is made up of Chauncy Adkins, Noah Boren, Lucas Farner, Jakob Fukas, Kale Harris, Max LaForest, Jaxon Shufeldt, Jackson Surma, Cameron Thorning, Gavin Ulin and Ethan VanBelle.
