Taylor Golf is opening for business tomorrow (Tuesday, April 28). Both the Lakes of Taylor and Taylor Meadows will be ready for play. But only the front nine will be available at the Lakes of Taylor, because of ongoing construction on the back nine.
Tee times start at 8 a.m. on both courses. Reservations by telephone (734-287-2100) will be accepted, but no earlier than the morning of Tuesday, April 28. Walk-ups will be accepted. Taylor Golf’s online registration provider, Golf Now, is in the process of setting up both courses for electronic reservations, but due to the volume of traffic it is currently seeing, that option may not be ready for the first day of play.
Players should note: No carts will be available at this time. No more than four in a group. Patience is emphasized.
The practice range facilities will also be open, and golfers will receive flyers as they enter on the course concerning play and dinner or lunch options (through carryout).
Social distancing must be followed and will be monitored, in accordance with the State of Michigan guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. Face masks are not required on the course, but anyone entering the pro shop or any confined area should wear one.
When it comes to golf, Taylor’s two courses are among the most honored in the Detroit metropolitan area. Golf Advisor ranked Taylor Meadows the 13th most improved course in the United States. That honor was based on a four-star ranking and an 80.8 percent recommendation factor after the course had undergone major renovations. Lakes of Taylor was named to the Detroit Free Press’s Metro Detroit Top 10 Public Golf Course list. The Lakes was tabbed No. 5, ahead of Coyote Preserve, Pine Trace, Moose Ridge, Kensington Metropark and Coyote Golf Club. It ranked just behind The Orchards, Shepherd’s Hollow, Greystone and Lyon Oaks.
The Lakes of Taylor sports the finest practice facilities Downriver, and this year is upping its Pro Shop offerings dramatically. Through the offseason, they offered virtual lessons on social media through “Mondays with Matt” and lessons and golf camps will be available again this year. In addition, Corporate Membership and unlimited Twilight Golf packages are available as reasonable prices.
Taylor Golf is the place for you, whether you’re a golfer or just looking for a great meal. It offers a golf club atmosphere, without the golf club membership fees. Remember, we’re more than just golf. Try us out – you won’t be disappointed.
