Here is an update on the upcoming events schedule in the City

The following is an update on events that were previously scheduled for this time period. Because of the current COVID-19 state of emergency in Michigan, many have been canceled, postponed or altered.

Animal Shelter Adoption Days have been postponed indefinitely and the shelter remains closed to the public.

Clerk’s Office Cemetery Cleanups, two of which were scheduled for May, have been postponed.

The National Day of Prayer celebration in Taylor has been changed. Instead of a live public ceremony, a video will be shared tomorrow (Thursday, May 7) afternoon on social media and other platforms.

Mother’s Day Brunch at the Lakes of Taylor’s Lake House Bar & Grille and banquet facilities has been changed to a carry out format. Great meals for low prices, with residents receiving a 20 percent discount. Just call (734) 287-9001.

The Citywide Garage Sale Week is being changed to a later date to-be-determined. City of Taylor officials have a meeting on that tomorrow, and will announce new dates, likely afterward.

Armed Forces Remembrance Day, scheduled for May 16, has been canceled this year.

The Downriver Relay for Life, originally scheduled for May 30, has been changed to September 26.

The Taylor Community Chorus’s spring concert at the William Ford Senior Activities Center has been canceled.

The Happy Soles Annual 5K Run, scheduled for June 14, has been changed to a “virtual run” through June 30. For more information, email happysoles5K@flcfp.org.

The Our Lady of the Angels Summer Festival scheduled for June 21 has been canceled.

The Taylor Recreation Department’s Summer Youth Camp has been canceled.

The Taylor Summer Festival, originally scheduled for June 25-28, is being changed. Officials are working on pushing the date back to a time-to-be-determined, likely in August-September. The City is attempting to keep the same concert lineup and will announce a new schedule as soon as it is finalized.

The Junior League World Series has been canceled.

All Petting Farm special event have been canceled through May.
