This rediscovered activity is capturing the attention of all ages. We welcome you to try it out. Bring your sense of adventure. The library supplies the sheets of designs and colored pencils. It’s a wonderful way to unwind and take your mind off the problems of the day. You will discover or rediscover your own creativity and imagination. Programs are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m.

  1. National Prayer Day Celebration

    May 4, 2017, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM @ Taylor City Hall

    The annual celebration takes place at noon in the Cameron Priebe Plaza at City Hall. Religious leaders gather to celebrate as one. Last year, about 100 people gathered to listen to several prayers and speeches all themed for “Wake Up America.” The history of the National day of Prayer dates back to 1775 when the Continental Congress passed it. Eventually, a bill declaring a National Prayer Day was passed by Congress in 1952 and fixed the celebration on the first Thursday in May in 1988.

    City Clerk Cindy Bower offers free shredding services one morning per year in the Pine Street parking lot, east of City Hall. This year’s event is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. (you must be in line by 12:45 to participate!). Two or three small boxes of paper will be allowed. The site is secure.

  4. 2017 Armed Forces Day Celebration

    The City of Taylor and the Taylor Veterans Museum Commission celebrates Armed Forces Day every May, which is usually held in the Cameron Priebe Plaza outside in front of the Taylor Police Department (but was moved indoors for 2015 and 2016 because of the weather). Various speakers are featured and there is an official reading of deceased veterans' names each year.
